19 Spring Decorating Tips from Our Artists

“After all," Anne had said to Marilla once, "I believe the nicest and sweetest days are not those on which anything very splendid or wonderful or exciting happens, but just those that bring simple little pleasures, following one another softly, like pearls slipping off a string." ~ Anne, Anne of Avonlea, Chapter 19

Something magical is happening just outside your window. Look outside your window, right now, yes, do it! What do you see?

Upon the writing of this post, a robin red breast is hopping around in the yard looking for a worm to spear from the cool dirt, vermillion buds are bursting from the maple trees, and the damp grass is gently turning green. These are, as Anne Shirley puts it, "simple little pleasures."

At Ramshackled Treasures we love and are inspired by the simple little pleasures life has to offer. We are more than just a shop, what we do is a way of life and an expression of the heart. We all love junk, the thrill of the hunt, the process of creating beauty. This process is often a journey, filled with ups and downs and serendipitous moments. Sometimes things don't turn out how we planned, other times, they exceed our expectations.

These creations and the creative process are our "simple little pleasures."

As spring nears many of us are mentally planning our gardens and spring cleanings--but don't forget to freshen your home with a little bit of the spring joy as well!

Sometimes it doesn't take a whole room remodel to make a big difference in your space. Often its just a pop of color, something growing, a small end table, or a rustic knick-knack...to give your home the lived-in serenity you've been looking for.
